The official lookup source is the Yuma County Detention Center Inmate Web Portal. It is a Tyler Technologies / New World Systems portal for Yuma County Detention Center records maintained under the Yuma County Sheriff's Office, where Sheriff Leon N. Wilmot is the current sheriff. The public notice says the web inquiry updates periodically and that YCSO makes no express or implied warranties about accuracy, completeness, omissions, errors, or operation of the website. That warning is important for recent arrests, bond changes, releases, and court updates.

Yuma County inmate records in the portal are jail custody records. They are useful for confirming a booking, checking whether the person is in custody, reviewing jail charge labels, and seeing bond or bail amounts. They are not the formal court file. Court charges can change after the County Attorney reviews the case, files a complaint, amends counts, declines prosecution, or obtains an indictment.

Sheriff Leon N. Wilmot's office controls the adult county jail record path through the Yuma County Sheriff's Office Detention Bureau and Records Department. That local control is limited to sheriff-originated records and jail custody records. The same name can appear in a court case, an ADCRR prison profile, an ICE detention record, or a federal custody system, but those systems are maintained by different agencies and may update on different schedules.

Because jail data changes fast, a search done after bond, release, transfer, or court action may return a different result than a search done earlier the same day.

Yuma County Roster Fields

The search form supports several ways to narrow an inmate lookup. A broad name search helps when the spelling is uncertain. A booking number or subject number is more precise. The date fields help when the person has more than one booking history entry or when the search is for a past event rather than the current jail population.

Yuma County Inmate Profile

A full public profile can show a mix of identity, booking, bond, and charge information. The research inspection found name, subject number, age, gender, race, height, weight, a Photos section, booking history, booking number, booking date, release date, scheduled release date, prisoner type, housing facility, total bond and bail amounts, booking origin, a bond table, and a charges table. It did not show date of birth, housing pod or cell, eye color, hair color, magistrate, next court date, or projected-release logic.

A charge label on the jail profile is not proof of guilt. It is a roster entry tied to booking or custody. The court record is the place to verify filed charges and outcomes after prosecutor review.

When Yuma Records Are Missing

If a recent arrest is not online, call the Yuma County Detention Center at (928) 782-9871 and ask for the Admitting Clerk. YCSO says callers should provide the person's full name and date of birth if known. The admitting clerk can answer custody status, charges, bond eligibility, court of record, and initial appearance location or time where available.

For copies, use the YCSO public records and report request process. Records requests go through the Records Department at 160 S. 3rd Avenue, Suite B, Yuma, AZ 85364, phone (928) 329-2254, fax (928) 539-7891, and email SORec@ycso.yumacountyaz.gov. YCSO requires picture identification. Requests are processed in order received, often with a 15 to 20 business-day expectation, and most reports are available 14 business days after the officer took the report.

The YCSO records fee schedule is also useful when a jail roster profile is not enough. Adult arrest records, booking photos in black and white, and letters of incarceration are listed at no charge. Case reports are listed at $3, incident reports at $1, traffic accident reports at $3, and photos, audio, video, or 911 recordings at $5 per CD. Payment may be made by cash, personal check, money order, or cashier's check payable to the Yuma County Sheriff's Office. Credit and debit card handling is limited to the Civil Department for Visa and MasterCard with a convenience fee.

Victims and family members who need custody-change alerts should also account for VINELink where Arizona and Yuma notification is available. VINELink is not a replacement for the public roster or the admitting clerk. It is a notification channel, so a release, transfer, or court deadline should still be confirmed with YCSO, the court of record, ADCRR, ICE, or the federal custodian that controls the current record.

Yuma Bond Property Records

Bond information in Yuma County inmate records should be checked against both the jail profile and the court of record. YCSO says most non-domestic misdemeanors generally have set bonds, while felony arrestees must appear in court within 24 hours and a judge may set bond. The admitting clerk can tell a caller whether a person is bond-eligible and, if not, where and when the initial appearance is set. After business hours, the Detention Center accepts exact cash bonds only, and staff cannot make change.

Property is handled separately from bond. YCSO says all personal property is sealed when a person is booked and stays sealed until release unless the inmate authorizes a release. Property pickup or exchange occurs at the gazebo off 1st Street behind booking, Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM, and valid government photo ID is required. Property that is not picked up within 90 days of transfer or release may be disposed of under the jail's published rule.

A bond type often posted through a bail agent or surety, not recommended by detention staff.

A hold or notice from another agency that may affect release even after a local bond is resolved.

County State Federal Custody

Not every Yuma County inmate record sits in the YCSO jail roster. A felony sentence to Arizona prison moves the search to ADCRR Inmate DataSearch. Federal sentenced prisoners are searched through the BOP inmate locator. Immigration detainees should be searched through ICE ODLS or confirmed with San Luis Regional Detention Center or ICE detention channels. Yuma County Jail Services

YCSO public social visitation is video-only through Combined Public Communications / InmateSales. Professional visits are scheduled through the Visitation Office, and professional visitors may need government photo ID plus bar card, provider ID, law enforcement credentials, investigator license, interpreter certification, or similar proof. Personal mail is processed by TextBehind and sent to the Kentucky scanning address listed by YCSO, while attorney and qualifying legal mail follow separate rules.
